George Pimentel is regarded as Canada’s most renowned celebrity photographer. From Toronto to Hollywood, he has photographed every A-list star such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Madonna, and Johnny Depp. He regularly attends the most prominent film festivals in the world: Toronto, Cannes, Sundance, Venice and Rome. In addition, he has covered events such as: the Oscars, Golden Globes, SAGS, Emmys, and Junos. 

From Artists to World Leaders to The Royals, to his holiness John Paul II, he has enjoyed unprecedented access to major entertainment and political figures of our time. His photo of the iconic Royal Kiss appeared on countless covers around the world.

He graduated with an Honours BA from Ryerson University in Photo Arts. He got his first career break when he took his first step onto the red carpet to photograph Robert De Niro at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1993. He recalls:  “I took my first celebrity photo of Robert De Niro, and ever since then, it’s been my passion. I don’t interfere in their business and I never hassle anyone. I just manage to capture the stars in their element.”

From his humble beginnings in a family run studio, his work now appears regularly in publications such as People, Rolling Stone, Variety, US Weekly, and Hello! His 17-year dedication to “Flare Was There” in Canada’s Flare Magazine, and his weekly contribution to the Diary section of Hello! (Canadian edition) has helped to build his profile. He is the official photographer of choice for: Toronto Film Festival, Genies/Gemies/Junos, CTV, MuchMusic, Toronto Fashion Week, OneXOne Gala, and AMPHAR.
